New build resale properties in France

A Place in France property portfolio now includes a range of newly build resales. These nearly new properties were originally sold off plan and still benefit from the statutory 10 year building guarantee. The Gulf of Saint Tropez is one of the most desirable locations on the Côte d’Azur. It enjoys an established reputation for chic and style and a beautifully protected environment thanks to stringent building regulations. It is in addition easily accessible year round with two international airports at Nice (1hr) and Toulon Hyères (45mns).

South west France, in the Landes region, minutes drive from the coast. Latest photographs of project

We recently visited the Landes region. The travelling arrangements could not have been easier, flying from Southampton to Bordeaux and hiring a car once in France. We follow the motorway to Bayonne and stopped on the way in Mimizan, on the edge of the magnificent Landes forest. We were very taken by the location of this new development, in the traditional village of Mimizan, a small community which lives year round. Mimizan Plage, which is the seaside resort itself with miles of vast sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast, is a short 8 minutes drive away. The project is in peaceful surroundings amongst magnificent scented pines and within walking distance of the market square and village centre where there are a few restaurants. Despite the evening sun, our photographs illustrate the environment well. If you would like to know more about the location and its surroundings we will be pleased to talk to you. Just call us on 0844 576 8485 or give us a number where you would like us to call you back if more convenient. Bordeaux airport (British Airways, EasyJet, Flybe, Bmbaby, AerLingus, AerArann). Biarritz airport (Ryannair, Easyjet).

French new build laws

Keith Baker, of Croft Baker & Co was recently quoted in the International agent: “France is an enduring favourite for people looking to purchase property abroad. You can see why it is a popular place. The French new build market is actually better regulated than most other European countries and France is the lead country on consumer protection when it comes to new build properties. House buyers are unaware of how ahead of the game France is with some legislation up to 40 years old. Some countries, including the UK, are just getting round to putting insurance and guarantees in place. France has the legislation to guard against uncertainty.”

Here are some of the reasons we think purchasers are looking for new build or buying off-plan in France.
