Receiving the keys to your new property

The key handover (livraison) is a very important step in the buying process of an off plan property.

At the time of the key handover, a representative of the French developer will accompany you through your new property and make a snagging list with you of any items that need attention. This is called the Proces Verbal and is standard procedure when buying off plan in France.

You then have a further 30 days in which to add items to the list. This is done by advising the developer in writing by recorded delivery. It is important to remember at this stage that the One Year perfect completion guarantee covers the snagging list to ensure that any work noted is carried out as required.
